The Galette des Rois: an ancient tradition

A symbol of sharing and quality time, the Galette des Rois is an eagerly-anticipated tradition each year for Epiphany. Behind this ritual lies an ancient tradition, passed down from generation to generation, where family and friends gather to enjoy this puff pastry treat, baked to golden perfection, and crown the king or queen of the day.

A simple, heartwarming moment that marks the start of the year with delicious indulgence.

Our Frangipane Galette

Our Frangipane Galette des Rois combines an all-butter puff pastry with a beautifully crisp exterior and melt-in-the-mouth interior with an almond cream justly flavoured with rum. An iconic classic, loved for its beautifully balanced flavours and decadence.

Each galette contains an exclusive charm, hidden amongst its layers, selected especially for the occasion.

Traditional and artisanal expertise

We make each galette using artisan methods: the folding and rolling to laminate the pastry, preparation of the frangipane, filling and baking to golden perfection… Each step is carried out with the utmost care by our pâtissiers. The galettes are baked in-store each day, guaranteeing optimal freshness and perfectly developed pastry lamination, giving them a cloud-like, melt-in-the-mouth texture.

A speciality available exclusively in our stores

An iconic speciality for Epiphany, our Frangipane Galette des Rois is available in limited quantities and is only available in our stores, from 26th December. Available in two size options — 4-person or 6/8-person — it’s perfect for any occasion where you want to share a sweet treat.

Before serving, pop our Frangipane Galette into the oven for 5 minutes at 180°C.

Once you’ve handed out the slices of galette at random (which is traditionally done by the youngest person at the table), add the perfect celebratory touch to the occasion with a glass of Alsace crémant — a dry sparkling white wine — or a fruit juice for younger ones. Perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Butter (MILK), WHEAT flour (GLUTEN), EGG, ALMOND 11%, sugar, water, rum, vanilla extract, salt, starch, MILK, vinegar, flavouring.

All our products are made in a bakery which also works with wheat flour (gluten), milk (lactose), eggs, nuts (almond, hazelnut, pistachio, walnut), sesame, soya derivatives, peanuts and ingredients which may contain traces of sulphites.
