Biscuiteries and distilleries: the exceptional alliance of two Alsace artisan trades
In its constant quest for innovation, our Maison invites lovers of the finer things in life to discover this meeting of two crafts that form a key part of our regional identity: our pâtissier/biscuitier art and the art of distilling. Driven by this regional legacy we want to showcase, we took an iconic Alsace bakery product and turned it into a refined, elegant dessert. By immersing a Kougelhopf in a subtle alcohol syrup, our pâtissiers offer you a well-balanced and generous combination of indulgent sensations, the true quintessence of our region: the Lillikoug® - " Lilli " emphasises its small size and "Koug" refers back to the Kougelhopf which lent it its shape.
Our Lillikoug range: Mini Kougelhopfs
To bring out the incomparable flavour of our biscuiterie expertise, our Maison has selected some of the most renowned brandies in our region: Kirsch, Gewurztraminer, Damson Plum and Williams Pear. With these creations, lovers of the finer things in life are invited to nourish their senses with an unusual combination of two of our region’s great traditions: its pâtisserie savoir-faire and its art of distilling.
The spirit of the Alsace desserts, how best to enjoy our Lillikougs
Although our region is famous for its seven grape varieties, it is also known for its orchards and brandies. Our Lillikougs® range capture the full essence of this region. Created right here in Alsace, foodies are sure to savour them on their own. Others will decorate these little cakes with great care and imagination, so that they can be enjoyed as they should be - to round off a fine dining meal, for example - and so that the talented spirit artisans of our region can take the spotlight. The Lillikoug® can be even more elegantly elevated by serving them with an ice cream and fruit. The cold touch will gently revive the flavours and aromas of the brandy. Finally, try out our recipe for Lillikoug ice cream sandwich, our recipe for pan-fried Damson plums or our recipe for Alsace Mirabelle plum compote, perfect for the back-to-school season!
