The beignet — not to be confused with a bugne or angel wing doughnut — is an iconic speciality that appears each year with the carnival season. A tradition in the weeks leading up to Lent, the beignet embodies the final indulgent celebration before the period of self-denial, forming part of a heritage that our Maison takes great care to honour.
A perfectly tart raspberry preserve centre
Our Raspberry Filled Beignet starts with an expertly prepared brioche dough, delicately enhanced with vanilla to add an extra subtle, aromatic layer. Shaped and then deep-friend, the dough expands to reveal a beautifully fluffy interior and a golden-brown exterior.
Once cooled, each beignet is filled with a raspberry preserve, balance the sweetness of the fruit with its tart edge, it adds an elegant freshness that contrasts with the rich brioche dough. The beignet is then dusted in sugar, for the perfect balance between sweet, tart and indulgent notes.
A fruity pleasure just waiting to be savoured
The Raspberry Filled Beignet is best enjoyed warmed or at room temperature, so that the preserve retains its velvety smooth texture and the fruity aromas can be fully appreciated. WHEAT flour (GLUTEN), raspberry jam 20.7% (sugar, raspberry 45%, glucose syrup, gelling agent: pectin), MILK, palm fat, EGG, yeast, butter (MILK), sugar, vanilla extract, salt, candied lemon peel paste (lemon 51.5%, glucose syrup).
All our products are made in a bakery which uses wheat flour (gluten), milk (lactose), eggs, nuts (almond, hazelnut, pistachio, walnut), sesame, soya derivative, peanuts and ingredients which may contain traces of sulphites.
