The tradition of Easter eggs
The humble egg holds so much symbolism across various cultures around the world, often representing life, fertility, and transformation - like the seasonal transition from winter to spring. We also know that it was forbidden to eat them during the run-up to the Easter celebrations. Saved for Easter day, they could then be painted and gifted to little ones, following tradition.
Overnight in Alsace, before the sun rises on Easter morning, one of the shier inhabitants of the Alsace Grand Ried gets busy hiding eggs around local gardens: "Osterhase" Easter Bunny.

The fine nougatine shell of these little Easter eggs is made using caramel sugar and tiny pieces of almond. It's then expertly filled by our chocolatiers with a melt-in-the-mouth hazelnut praline. Crisp yet meltingly soft all at once, these little eggs are so indulgent that it's near impossible to resist…
A special treat, these chocolate delights have a crisp nougatine shell and melt-in-the-mouth praline centre, and go wonderfully with the fresh, light notes of an Oolong tea or a fruity or floral infusion.

All our products are made in a bakery which uses wheat flour (gluten), milk (lactose), eggs, nuts (almond, hazelnut, pistachio, walnut), sesame, soya derivative, peanuts and ingredients which may contain traces of sulphites.
