A soft Bredele
The recipe used for the Brünsli is rich in almonds, cocoa and honey: Ingredients which add to its sweetness, its beautiful colouring, and its delectable, chocolatey taste. As for the cinnamon added to the mix, it uplifts with its spiced notes.
Made with a clover-shaped mould, the colour and texture of our Brünsli add to the diversity that defines Bredele.
A traditional speciality
Also known as "Basler Brünsli", literally translated as "Basel Brown", the Brünsli is a biscuit typically enjoyed in Basel, Switzerland. The oldest recipe dates back to 1750, and was made to celebrate big occasions. Today, the Brünsli is on the unmissable Christmas Bredele that we make each year in Alsace to celebrate the festive period.
Our Maison's recipe
This Christmas, our pâtissiers have been hard at work in our bakery, preparing a blissful creation that is sure to enchant all your senses! Made with a cocoa and cocoa powder filling, our Brünsli packs an intense taste.
It's then decorated with cinnamon sugar for an extra touch of indulgence. Its delicate and carefully mastered cooking process is the key to making a Bredele that is crisp on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside…
The clear, cocoa notes truly come into their own when they're paired with a China white tea with refreshing aromas. Alternatively, for a pairing that is more unusual but no less delicious, try it with a glass of red wine!
