A new savoury Kougelhopf creation
An emblematic bakery treat for our region, the Kougelhopf is a traditional sweet brioche that you’ll see taking pride of place on tables in homes around Alsace. Its reputation is well established and its endss variations stand testament to its popularity: sweet orsavoury, there are countless recipes for this speciality.

For this new Kougelhopf recipe, our pâtissiers have used all of the ingredients that have already made our brioche speciality so famous: a crisp crust, a featherweight texture and an exceptionally soft crumb.
This recipe has been mastered by our teams in the Atelier, kneading the dough to perfection, leaving it to rest for just the right amount of time, letting it slowly rise, and then baking it in an authentic mould, made of Soufflenheim terracotta. We add a wild garlic purée, using wild garlic harvested at the height of the season, delicately seasoned with finely chopped onion. Finally, our pâtissiers decorate the top with finely chopped walnuts.

Found growing in abundance across the lowlands and mountain ranges of Alsace, we use fresh wild garlic, harvested at the peak point of the season before being prepared and blended into a homemade purée. Cleverly incorporated into the dough, the naturally green colour of the wild garlic is revealed when the Kougelhopf is cut and adds a subtle, delicate flavour: perfect for accompanying your springtime indulgences…

With this savoury version with wild garlic, our Maison is celebrating the great events on the summer calendar, making our speciality a must-have for everything from apéros and apéritifs to picnics and any other summery get-togethers. Cut into generous slices, it's perfect for buffet-style dinners with friends and family!

The subtle, delicate flavour of our Wild Garlic Kougelhopf is the perfect accompaniment for all your summer festivities. Pair it with a glass of dry white wine (Riesling or Pinot Blanc) and a charcuterie board.
Wheat flour (GLUTEN), MILK, butter (MILK), EGG, sugar, wild garlic mix 3.3% (wild garlic 71%, grapeseed oil), yeast, wild garlic purée 1.2% (wild garlic 65%, water, sunflower oil, salt, acidifier: citric acid, acidity regulator: sodium hydrogen sulfate, stabilizers: guar gum, xanthan gum, preservative: potassium sorbate), salt, NUTS, onions.
All our products are made in a bakery which also works with wheat flour (gluten), milk (lactose), eggs, nuts (almond, hazelnut, pistachio, walnut), sesame, soya derivatives, peanuts and ingredients which may contain traces of sulphites.

In order to preserve all the wonderful flavours of our Kougelhopf, it has been frozen (cooled to core, immediately after production) using the appropriate techniques. Given this, we ask you not to refreeze this product.
