Kougelhopf and friends

Brioches to share

While Alsace enjoys a certain (wonderful) reputation for its Christmas traditions, and particularly for its exquisite bredele, in all their diversity, it also takes pride in other specialities which are equally iconic.

Without a doubt, the most famous amongst them is the Kougelhopf: This is a brioche like no other in terms of taste and its shape, created by its Soufflenheim terracotta mould. The classic, sweet version includes almonds and rum-soaked raisins. As for the savoury version, it's full of nut kernels and bacon lardons. Considered as an emblem of our regional gastronomic heritage, the Kougelhopf is, incontestably, the best-loved bake.

That said, there are many more culinary delights waiting to be discovered amongst our traditions:

  • The Langhopf, a long and generously filled brioche…
  • The Beerawecka, a small and soft bread loaf, bursting with dried fruits and flavoured with pear brandy. Seasoned foodies will love it served with a slice of Alsace duck foie gras…
  • The Christstollen: A Christmas fruit bread, packed with spices and dried fruit which holds a generous centre of almond paste, all dusted with icing sugar.

The savoir-faire and exceptional quality of our Maison

All of these breads, cakes and brioches are made in our bakery by our pâtissiers, using recipes created by our ancestors. With no room for compromise when it comes to our ingredients, we carefully hand-select the, from the fruits, such as oranges, lemons and other candied fruit or raisins, to nuts, such as almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts, and spices, including cinnamon, vanilla and ginger. An incredible diversity of ingredients, offering you and infinite palette of flavours. Creative and generous, our specialities reflect our wonderful region.

For every moment…

Whether it's for a special, Sunday family brunch, an afternoon tea catch-up with friends, or a special event, our traditional and generous bakes are perfect for sharing a delicious moment with loved ones…
